PREVENTATIVE MAINTENANCE PROGRAMS FOR BUFFALO, NY; ERIE, PA & BEYOND

Preventative maintenance is crucial to ensuring that your equipment will continue to function properly for years to come. Preventative maintenance can help diagnose smaller issues with your equipment before they turn into much larger issues that can greatly impact your business. This allows you the opportunity to have these issues fixed sooner rather than later and at your convenience, so your business can continue to run smoothly.

At Viking Logistics LLC, we have our own preventative maintenance programs which have been extremely successful in terms of reducing maintenance costs by ensuring the equipment is properly maintained. These programs have also helped our clients eliminate costly emergency repairs and provided a record for our clients that all safety and operational procedures are being adhered to and that all safety mechanisms on the equipment are operating as they should be.

Our team at Viking Logistics LLC offers two preventative maintenance programs for our clients throughout Western New York.

Our Bi-Yearly Preventative Maintenance Program

This particular program includes two visits every year - one every six months, with a two-week scheduling window.

Upon each visit, your baler will be brought up to meet all applicable safety, ANSI, and operating standards. Each PM has a $250.00 Parts PO Limit. Anything exceeding that limit will be put on hold until written verification is acquired by the customer. Upon completion and review of the PM by a Viking Logistics LLC representative, the customer will receive a copy of the equipment PM inspection sheet, as well as a written report regarding the status of the equipment or any future concerns regarding the equipment.

The total cost of this program is $175.00 per visit, plus $250.00 Parts PO.

Is Your Equipment Safe?

According to ANSI Z245.5, The American National Standard for Equipment Technology and Operations for Waste and Recyclable Materials, the employer is responsible for the following:

6.1.2 Properly Maintained Equipment
The employer must provide a properly maintained baler. To be considered “properly maintained,” the baler must meet all applicable Safety Standards that have been set forth.

6.1.3 Inspection and Maintenance Program
The employer must establish regular inspections and maintenance of their equipment, like the inspections offered by Viking Logistics LLC. These inspections must incorporate the manufacturer guideline recommendations of all balers to ensure that all the parts, auxiliary equipment, and safeguards are still in safe operating condition. Also, the employer must maintain written records of the inspections and the maintenance work that was performed during these inspections.

6.1.4 Adherence to Maintenance Program
The employer must ensure that the proper cleaning, inspecting, and maintenance work, in line with the manufacturer’s recommendations, has been completed for the baler. Employers who choose to maintain their own equipment instead of utilizing a property maintenance program like ours will be responsible for training maintenance personnel in line with the manufacturer's guidelines and recommendations.
